Cake Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups self rising flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cup cooking oil
1 cup buttermilk
3 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vinegar

Icing Ingredients:
3 cans carnation milk
3 cups granulated sugar
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Cake Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 3 “8” cake pans. Set aside for use. In a mixing bowl, cream sugar and oil, adding eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Blend in vinegar. Sift together dry ingredients (flour and baking soda) and add to cream mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla extract and beat well. Pour mixture into greased and floured pans. Bake for 35 minutes.

Icing Directions:
In a sauce pan, combine all ingredients. Turn stove on low heat. Stir mixture for 2 hours or until it becomes a creamy golden caramel icing.
